Industrial Reference Platform Workshops Oct - Nov 2009
How to develop a complete industrial solution in less than one hour?
The GE-Research Industrial Reference Platform (Hpe_IRP) is based on an Intel Atom™ processor and an Altera Arria GX FPGA, connected via PCI Express. This powerful combination offers you the ultimate in low power, high performance computing and configurable logic flexibility. The Hpe_IRP has been designed as a prototyping platform for the development and evaluation of systems so that you save time and money by getting a system up and running before committing to building your own circuit board.
This workshop offers an insight into the devices themselves, the design of the Industrial reference platform and the tools used to make the processor and FPGA work together. With the Hpe_IRP you can create systems that leverage both the software and performance of the Atom™ processor, and the configurable logic of the FPGA to support practically every combination of interface and custom logic.
In the afternoon hands on technical sessions you will get to use the tools themselves and build/ run your own PCI express based
system on a real board (note: attendees need to bring their own laptops for this session).
There will be also be tabletop displays and demos showing the latest industrial technologies like CoDeSys soft PLC, EtherCat, SERCOSIII and ProfiNet applications.
